My job is to complement your wedding, not turn it into an all-day photo shoot. I read the room, stay close enough to catch what matters, and step back when a moment belongs to you and your family. I use longer lenses when they help me stay unobtrusive, and I communicate with the venue and officiant so I can work within their boundaries without becoming a distraction.
Yes. When you book me, you are hiring me personally. My wedding coverage is built around one photographer, one consistent eye, and one point of contact from planning through the wedding day. I do not build my standard packages around a second or third shooter.
I respect those restrictions. I communicate with venues whenever possible in advance and adapt my position, timing, and lens choice. The ceremony is your moment; I am there to document it, not interfere with it.
More than most couples expect - especially with larger Hawai'i families or large wedding parties. I have photographed a wedding party of more than 50 people, so I plan family formals realistically. Before the wedding, we will talk through the groups that matter most and make sure the timeline gives us a practical chance to photograph them without rushing everyone.
Small previews may be possible, but they will be low resolution and should be treated only as a general look at framing and exposure. My camera files are not meant to represent the final color and finish. The real look of the photographs happens in editing, so I ask that unfinished previews not be posted or shared publicly.
I deliver finished high-resolution files for you to download. I do not rely on a permanent online viewing gallery as the place where your photographs live. I want you to have the actual files in your possession, so once delivery is made you can keep them, view them offline, and make your own backups.
A typical wedding delivery target is about 3–5 weeks, depending on the scope of the wedding and the number of images. My priority is efficient delivery without sacrificing the color work, consistency, and finishing that make the photographs complete.
Yes. One reasonable round of specific revision requests can be included so we can address anything that genuinely needs attention. If you request additional rounds beyond that, I may quote additional editing time before doing the work.
I focus on delivering the finished photographs themselves. Printed albums and print products are not part of my standard wedding service, but I am happy to recommend printers and album companies I trust so you can choose the physical products that fit your taste and budget.
I retain the copyright as the photographer, and you receive the finished files with broad personal use and printing rights. You can print them, post them, share them with family and friends, and send them to your wedding vendors for ordinary sharing. Commercial publication or other high-value commercial use requires separate written permission or licensing.
Only within the privacy terms we agree to. You can allow normal portfolio use, ask that only approved photographs be shared, or request that your wedding remain private. If there are specific images that feel too personal, tell me. I want those boundaries settled before anything is published.
A signed agreement and a reservation retainer. My usual retainer is 50%. For some higher-priced packages I may offer a 25% initial retainer to make the booking more accessible. The exact amount will be written into your agreement before you pay it.
Normally, the remaining balance is due no later than the wedding day. In some circumstances we may agree in writing that the final payment can be made before the finished images are delivered. Final files are not released until the service has been paid in full.
Cash and checks are accepted without a processing fee. I also accept PayPal and Venmo. When an electronic-payment processing charge applies, my current typical charge is 4.5%, and I will disclose it before you make the payment.
Wedding timelines are not perfectly predictable, especially in Hawai'i where weather and real-life delays happen. I build reasonable flexibility into coverage and I am not going to interrupt an important moment because the clock slipped. If the extension becomes substantial or changes the scope of the booking, we will discuss any additional cost before it is charged.
Ordinary travel around Hawai'i Island is part of how I work, so I do not normally add a separate gas or mileage charge. If the wedding requires late-night lodging - typically because coverage runs beyond about 10:00 p.m. - any room cost will be discussed and approved before booking.
For off-island weddings, transportation and lodging are additional because I need to be able to get to the wedding and stay where the schedule requires. I will quote those travel costs in advance so they are not a surprise later.
Yes. I carry professional liability coverage through Professional Photographers of America and can provide a certificate of insurance to a venue when it is required.
Yes - and I do not expect you to sign it without understanding it. I walk through the agreement with you, answer questions, and document any agreed changes. The contract covers the practical things couples care about: what you are booking, payment, travel, privacy, image rights, delivery, changes to the wedding, and what happens if something genuinely unexpected occurs.
I am not trying to make wedding photography feel like an inaccessible luxury product, and I am not approaching your day like a high-volume assignment. You are paying for personal attention, consistency, preparation, professional reliability, and a calmer experience - with finished photographs that are meant to stay with you for the long term.
The timeline matters. Couples often want to fit every possible photograph into the day, and sometimes that is realistic - but not always. Large families, travel between locations, weather, and ceremony restrictions all take time. The more clearly we plan those realities before the wedding, the more relaxed the day can feel and the less likely important photographs are to be overlooked.
